How Much Do YOU Want to Know?

The local paper has come out in opposition to Proposition 73 which will be on the ballot in California next month. If passed it will require notification of parents if their minor child seeks an abortion.
A troubling aspect of the paper's opposition to Proposition 73 is it's endorsement of Star Chamber justice:
"We are particularly concerned about one element of Proposition 73 . . . that would provide a public report on individual judges' rulings on minors' abortions."
"We wonder . . . how judges will feel if they know their decision potentially will be made public?"
Thankfully some diligent segments of the news media in this country have kept the public informed about some outrageous decisions handed down by unwise and/or politically motivated judges in recent years. This is a necessary check to the otherwise unbridled power of the judicial arm of government.
I'm disappointed that the paper is opposed to an informed public.
