Is the purpose of Saturday school at the local High School “to help students make up missed work” or is it to give them the opportunity to “serve their time” and thereby enable the school district to receive a larger reimbursement from the State? It seems that it must be just a matter of “time served” if performing community service is a viable substitute as is the 4 hour for 1 hour special “Amnesty Night” that’s scheduled for “serial truants.”
Anyway the school administrators have made it clear that if you want to “walk on stage” (graduate) you will have to “serve your time.” Is there any “time off for good behavior?”
